Prof Khater was elected to the Executive Committee in 2004 and became Chairman to the Executive Committee in 2012.
The Executive Committee carries out the resolutions of the General Assembly and takes all measures within the limits of these resolutions, designed to further the aims of the Federation. The Executive Committee consists of the President, Secretary, Treasurer and 12 elected members - from delegates of the General Assembly - and, (if appointed) Deputy Secretary and Deputy Treasurer together with the chairmen of the Standing Committees. Of the elected members, at least one must be from each of the following geographical groupings: Africa and the Middle East, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, Central and South America, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands, Europe and Israel, The United States of America and Canada.
The Chairman of the Executive Committee and the Secretary represent the Federation legally against any third parties.
The Executive Committee has appointed Dr Jannicke Mellin-Olsen (Norway) as Deputy Secretary.
