Several Anaesthesiologists have been recognized by their countries as worthy of National Awards and Honours.

Our current President, Dr Angela Enright has been awarded the Gold Medal Award from the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland, for major contribution to anaesthesia worldwide.  You may know that although Angela lives in Canada, she is actually Irish. 

  

 


 

Dr Haydn Perndt

Dr Haydn Perndt of Australia, well known to all of us and former Chair of the WFSA Education Committee, has been named to the Order of Australia.

 

 


 

Dr Hugh Spencer

Dr Hugh Spencer of Hamilton, New Zealand was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to anaesthesia. Hugh has been a long serving teacher involved in training anaesthesiologists from the Pacific Islands.

April 29 2009, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands has been graciously pleased to award the Knighthood of the Order of Orange Nassau to prof. Hans Knape, because of his merits to society, in particular his efforts for European Anaesthesiology since 1993 (EBA/UEMS - ESA).

 


Dr Allan Merry

On Jan 1, 2009. Dr Alan Merry was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to medicine, in particular anaesthesia.


Dr Anneke Meursing

Dr Graham Sharpe
