Our current President, Dr Angela Enright has been awarded the Gold Medal Award from the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland, for major contribution to anaesthesia worldwide. You may know that although Angela lives in Canada, she is actually Irish.

April 29 2009, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands has been graciously
pleased to award the Knighthood of the Order of Orange Nassau to prof.
Hans Knape, because of his merits to society, in particular his efforts
for European Anaesthesiology since 1993 (EBA/UEMS - ESA).

On Jan 1, 2009. Dr Alan Merry was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to medicine, in particular anaesthesia.
