The objectives of the Federation are exclusively educational, scientific, and charitable in nature and are to make available the highest standards of anaesthesia, pain medicine, trauma management, resuscitation, and preoperative/critical care medicine to all peoples of the world and to disseminate the same amongst them.

WFSA Research Grants

The Scientific Committee of the WFSA has a programme of research scholarships. These grants will be provided to young researchers from less affluent countries to help them to travel to a foreign country to study and learn in a research programme.

WFSA Research Grant 2011 adjudications
For the first year, the WFSA, according to the proposal of its Scientific Affairs Committee, has decided to create in 2011 three research grants of $8,000 each to allow young doctors to start a research programme abroad, hopefully in view of a PhD, during a period of six months to one year.
